ABOUT US
Velocity Computers was original founded in 1995 as George’s Computers in Seminole, Florida by a man with a vision. His vision was to offer a way for the general public to buy a new technology called the Personal Computer in a friendly, service oriented environment. This vision also included offering an alternative to the then highly priced “Name Brand” systems by means of customization. Business grew fast and he found himself moving into larger and larger facilities to accommodate the popular new home device. Having outgrown his small Seminole location, he ventured into a 5000 square foot retail location in Tampa and headquartered the operation in a 10,000 square foot facility Pinellas Park. Before long he was watching as more and more small shops opened and closed all around him. Changing the name in 2003 to Velocity Computers after 9 years in the business and seeing the technology field become more and more diverse, he decided to retire with his family. Enter Dataline Marketing Corporation.
Dataline Marketing Corporation was established on August 1, 2003 by the former General Manager of George’s Computers, Dwayne Stiff and his wife JoAnne. Facing the fact that he, and many of the people that he had worked with, would be out of jobs and many of his loyal customers would have to start shopping at the stores that never seemed to last long or treat their customers as family, Dwayne and JoAnne decided to take a bold step and purchase the customer database and rights to the Velocity Computers name. They decided to keep the Velocity Computers name over the door to keep the continuity of his long established customers. Opening shop in the exact same locations, Dataline Marketing Corporation began its journey without a hitch. Dataline Marketing with newer and fresher ideas on a greater quality of Customer Service and offerings is now moving the business forward with great response from the local public.
